Ehh.. Thats the name of the thing/spirit/demon Gaara is possesed by isnt it?.. just like kyuubi is the name of the thing Naruto has inside.. Gaara talks about him at the hospital, so I refer to the thing that gaara has as Shukaku. And I think he can take form, and that shukaku was that thing that stared at Sasuke.
