i think ur rite.....but i think at this time (well since the last few months) there was the whole surprise factor to consider.....like, who was gonna face who in the prelims, then who would do what in the 3rd exam, and now whats gonna happen with the war.......so cuz of that i think alot of ppl dont want wanna read the manga.
ofcourse, its not so bad if (for example) u watched/read the zabuza fight or the 1st/2nd exams in the manga........but i dont think ppl like having to switch over from the anime to the manga every few weeks.
and if u read the whole thing, that element of surprise is gone.....some folks perfer to b surprised in the manga, some in the anime.
i read the manga near the end of the prelims.....from the neji/hinata fight till where jirays shows up.....during the anime i didn't find the neji/hinata fight to b all that intresting, but the lee/gaara fight was still bad ass......so ya, manga doesnt ruin everyhting, but thats only cuz the manga readers have read all the really kool stuff that were all gonna watch like 15 time over
the thing is, its not so bad if u read it and then c it like 4 months later (cuz thats whats gonna happen) but during the really kool parts u cant read it cuz if u do, and then u c it again like next week, its not as much fun or surprising
