Sephiroth! (even though the FFVIIAC movie isn't out yet he's still the coolest character ever&#33.

For present anime though I'd probably pick Kaneda/Tetsuo from Akira...still half way through the manga but they both rule in the anime and the manga so far...also Kay is a pretty cool character . Generally anime characters can piss me off sometimes but I like the characters in Akira. I kinda like the Saras or whatever her name is from Hellsing too ...considering how few anime characters I don't like its surprising how hard it is to pick a favourite

Motoko might have been a favourite as she looks cool and is cool in the movie, but I don't like her character so much in GitS:SAC and in what little I've read of the Manga.
