Naruto Episode 72 Discussion

Overall, this ep was awesome. The art was decent, but Sarutobi's head seemed to have been drawn a bit thin and long at times.

A few things I noticed:


A hokage is holding Naruto in this picture. The 4th maybe? Can you say, "Daddy?"




The silhouette inside the Death God kinda looks like the 4th, especially in the 1st shot.

I'm thinking that the 3rd might be doing the same jutsu that the 4th used to seal the Demon fox.

Anyway, discuss.

yep, i think its the same jutsu as well.....can't wait to see what it actually is.

the ep was great.....finally a talking ep that i enjoyed. i loved getting to know the bg info on oro and the 3rd. and the scenes showing all the hokage's and thier students were kool.

is it just me or do the students look alike? like, tsunade looks like sakura, and that one girl in sarutobi's old team (i think) looks like moegi (konohamaru's friends).

i wanna see how kakashi and gai are holding up. and what happened to the baki/gemma fight? and shino as well? hopefully we'll see them all soon

Being a manga reader, I have been practically drooling for this episode ever since I realized it would get to this point.

Just FYI, in the manga Orochimaru didn't have containers of human parts in his little lab, he had actualy human bodies hanging on the wall like dead livestock. Some of them were even still alive but bleeding.

Also, Hokage's speech was awesome, better than even in the manga, the voice actor that does him is just an outstanding talent.

As for that person in the jutsu being the 4th, I can't say anything about that because its a spoiler.


Oh and the person holding Naruto is most likely the 3rd, Yondaime seemed to have blue on under his robes, and I believe Sarutobi was holding him after the Kyubi was sealed.

I usually delete episodes after I watch them, but this is good enough to keep.

Now I will walk away from this thread, when I come back I am guessing their will be speculation on who some of those guys were in the flashbacks...since the anime viewers have just now seen them.

Yeah Sasuke owned Temari. Oh and did you also noticed how there was a young version of Kakashi with the 4th? Was the 4th his teacher?

Yea, for once, flashbacks were actually nice.

Yeah, i really really liked seeing all the younger versions of the jounins.. They&#39;re soooo cute &#33; especially the baby kakashi, mwhehehee, the small Orochimaru&#39;s cute and innocent looking too..

yeah its pretty cool how they used the flashbacks to sorta show how everyone&#39;s connected to each other. I think the demon guy looking like the fourth is just coincidence....since im sure that even though its the 4th&#39;s jutsu, the god of death has been around a LOT longer than he has. That WAS actually a type of summoning, wasnt it?

anyway, the temari vs sasuke match didnt happen in the manga, so thats a nice little addition, but aside from that new song they had near the end and all the cool flashbacks of other konoha ninjas, i didnt care too much for this ep

oh....and while it certainly looks like a hokage holding baby naruto.....it could just be in reference to the 4th sealing kyubi into naruto....although the eyes and hair seem to bear a great resemblance between the two....i dont think we can jump to conclusions just yet

yeah i loooved the temari vs sasuke fight...crazy...esp since we dont get to see sasuke use his katon (fire element) jutsus alot..nice..

yeah, the fight between sasuke and temari was cool.....although the replacement technique is starting to get a little old

what i wanna know is... who is that one guy in the goggles... kakashi&#39;s teamate... that guy looks badass

oh and does anyone find it strange to see that the 3rd picked one jiraya&#39;s student instead of one his own...?

The dude with the googles must b the friend kakashi was talking about at the start of the series.

The flashback in this episode was the best yet, it had a lot more emotion and a lot less pointless crap.

A really great story episode.. Orochimaru is getting even cooler and cooler, loved the Orochimaru flashback aswome...

And the Hokage is doing really well. Pretty badass for beeing old.

Very cool episode. loved seeing the many generations of konoha, and i loved the little fight between sasuke and temari.

Well before you sead it looked like the 4th with the lord of death. i thought of another ninja that would fit in that place better. Zubaza(man i hope i spelt that right or close nuf) he would fit into that kind of ituation more then anyone eles i can think of

I have to say that&#39;s one of my fave eps out of the whole series.... the Sasuke/Temari fight was an awesome addition to the anime that wasn&#39;t in the manga.

All of the flashbacks contained in the episode just felt right - they didn&#39;t drag, they explained what they needed to, and they were filled with tension, etc.

As for the 3rd&#39;s speech about Konoha - combined with the awesome music, it really was a tear jerker&#33; Pretty emotional stuff. The voice actor is just perfect.

The combination of so many good points accumulated to create a truly excellent episode. 73 is gonna rock&#33;

anyway, if that person inside god of death is Yondaime, then we have some possibilities:

-by this jutsu u can seal ANYTHING into a child, but the god of death requires sacrifice, and that sacrifice is jutsu performer which is from then on prisoned inside god of death (for what reason? maybe &quot;prisoner&quot; is making god of death stronger by transferring his chakra to him?)

-by this jutsu u can seal ANYTHING inside anyone (let&#39;s think, who in konoha would freely agree to seal Kyuubi into him? I know hokage would agree, but U know that then this story wouldn&#39;t make any sense, so the 4th just sealed Kyuubi into Naruto [and we have no guarantee that Naruto was chosen because he&#39;s son of 4ft or he was at hand at the time ]). God of death require&#39;s sacrifice blahblahblah.

-by this jutsu u can seal ANYTHING into a child/anyone, God of death takes ur soul temporary, then ur soul is free and can go to heaven( ) or u come back to ur body and u&#39;re alive again (mwahahaha&#33

Besides if we assume that it&#39;s yondaime then &quot;reincarnation theory&quot; that naruto is reborned 4th seems very unlikely

look at the 3rd&#39;s and Jaraiya&#39;s eyes, they both have those little marks.
