strongest jounin

I suppose it makes sense that I would count Jiraiya and Orochimaru up at the top if we are including them. But I have no idea why everyone seems to think that Jiraiya is stronger than Oro. We've had no comparison between them so far except that Oro's sealing technique on Naruto's belly was rough. Aside from that, Sarutobi keeps saying how Oro was the genius that comes along every couple of decades. He never said anything about Jiraiya being any good.

I don't know anything about Itachi, because I just watch the anime, but are we sure he's a jounin? All we know is that he killed most of his family and has a Konoha headband.


For the ones who we absolutely know are jounin, I would guess Kakashi, Gai, and Anko. Kakashi is Konoha's #1 technique specialist. Gai is beating Kakashi in their sparring matches. And Orochimaru said that Anko is a special jounin. I'm guessing that's a good thing.

Then again, Ebisu is a "special jounin" and I'm not too impressed with him.

Gai is a huge ass beater. He has superior speed to Kakashi and is the village's taijutsu master.
Although we have never seen Hiashi fight, he is the Hyuuga heir and is a master of the Byakugan.
Kakashi is also a big ass beater. He looses a little in my rankings though because his sharingan is obviously not natural.

We actually have seen Hyuuga Hiashi fight once. He beat the #1 ninja from the Lightning country in one shot.

But the reason I didn't choose him is I don't know if he's a jounin. He doesn't have a Leaf headband anywhere.

Actually, the #1 ninja from the Lightning Country (Hidden Cloud Village) should be the Raikage. The ninja that Hiashi defeated was a "Shinobi Gashira (Kashira)" which translates into Shinobi Leader... he was most likely a representative of the Hidden Cloud Village.

In the Naruto Character Data Book, Hiashi is labeled as the Hyuuga Ke Toushu which means the Head of the Hyuuga Household. This is most likely a title within the Hyuuga Clan considering the Hyuuga is like a royal family within the Leaf. Hizashi, Neji's father and Hiashi's twin brother, was of the jounin rank... so, it can be assumed that Hiashi also achieved it.

The main reason that people are saying Kakashi is because they have seen a lot out of him. I think that it is a little bit early to make a decision considering that we have only seen them fight once or twice. We saw Asuma fight once in the episode where they stayed behind for the ambush. Similarly, we have only seen Gai fight briefly in the recent episodes.

I tried to say it a while ago, but as the Japanese would say...muda da...
There are the following ranks, that we know so far:
Student, Genin, Chunnin, Jounin and Hokage.
There are different functions, Special Jounins, Anbu, Hunting-nin. And I assume they're all at a jounin level. There are academy teachers, and they're at a Chunnin level. I believe that's what we know so far.
Also there are missing-nin, but I am assuming you can run away from the village independent of your rank. Maybe you'd be hunted or not, but that's beside the point.
The way I see it, like huh in the Army, two soldiers can be at the same rank, but one have medals and the other doesn't. More or less, that is what happen with the Sennin title.
As for Sannin, I can think of huh, Jesse James. There were tons of robbers like him, but he became *legendary*. Sannin means three people... It's to say oh, *those* (famous) guys.
So, there's no other know rank those three can have. Above jounin, there's only Kage, and those guys ain't that.
As for choosing the strongest, maybe this guy should just have named the ones *he* thinks are strong and put it into a vote. If he wanted us to name who is the strongest jounin, it's Jiraiya, there's no argument about that, so far.
You cannot ask, who is the strongest Jounin and if the answer is not to your liking, you come and say, oh, but this guy is not a jounin...that's really lame.

These guys, but i'd like to add Itachi. I don't know any of his strenght yet, but i do think he is one of the strongest.

But when/if Naruto become a Jounin, he will be the strongest.

strongest jounin? as much as i hate to admit it, i think kakashi is the strongest. at least from the leaf village that is. or hyuuga hiashi...
