    Kishimoto borrows heavily from both Japanese mythology (Jiayra/Tsuande/Orochimaru - Frog/Slug/Snake story) and Chinese Mythology (Hokage's monkey summon and the diamond pole are allusions to the chinese classic "Journey to the West").

    Yea I noticed that he borrowed that from the tle of the monkey king. Hehe anyone remember that anime called Monkey Magic?

    Either way I think its cool to see some of these myths put into life. He is doing a nice job doing it.
