Tass, i dont think the passing of traits is dependent upon the gender, but rather dominant vs recessive qualities of the traits. For example a child is more likely to have black hair than blonde hair regardless of whether the mother or the father has the black hair, simply because black hair is dominant and blonde hair is recessive. Now since the byakugan eyes is something that all hyugas have, while sharingan is something that only some uchihas have, then that would lead me to believe that byakugan is dominant while sharingan is recessive
but i thought it was a sex-linked trait, therefor the dominant and recessive stuff shouldn't matter, cuz the allele(sp?) is on the Y chromosome. but that all depens on wether or not its carried on the Y chromosome at all...you could be right. ~confused~ ~amsued~ that Mut@t@ didnt bother to comment =^_^=
