wait anbus are stronger than jounins right? but if so how many of them are as strong or stronger than kakashi. since every jounin waits for teh anbus to show up that makes one think that they are f'in awesome. such as when kakashi waits for them to show up when he fights with itachi. well i just want someone to clarify this for me. thanks.
ANBU are not stronger than Jounin. They're just specilized in things like assassination and espionage.
The point in waiting for them to arive is that many will show up(when they are called about things like Itachi) and you can't just summon the other Jounin like that so thats why they are awsome, because strength is in numbers.

as far as we can tell, ANBU are just specialist Jounin... nothing else disproves that.

in my opinion, i think that there are many different types of anbu members set in different categories
some maybe chuunin level, jounin level, or higher
the anbus that kakashi and the other jounins that were waiting for when the sad/sound attacked has to have higher skill than chuunins
sure some may look weak, but that also depends on how powerful the opponent is

I hope we learn the story of the female ANBU who is friends with Kakashi thru the link of the person who died that they both still miss and pay homage to at the stone memorial. I mean learn the whole story more, like flashbacks when kakashi and the female ANBU were young. Were those two and the one who died the three that were trained under the 4th hokage? Just like I enjoyed the flashback with jiraiya(sp?) and his bell training.
They clearly know each other, but I think it's not a very close relationship. She was there to pay homage to Hayate, the third examiner in the Chuunin exam. Kakashi was paying homage to someone named Obito, which is why he's always late. i completly agree with u. tons of chuunins die when the leaf is attacked and the only anbu that u see die(besides the ones that are killed by kabuto) die from a stupid jumping into wall thing. so i think some of them could give a few jounins a run for their money

Anbu do give jounins a run for thier money. At least the myst guy gave Kaikashi a run for his money. Also, about that invasion of the sand and sound, didn't it seem like a lot of those sand and sound guys just sucked. I mean they were just a waste. They must have been Chuunin level it just seems like villages should stop sending out chuunin when one Jounin can kill like 17 of them at once. Just seems like an awful waste of life.
