Hinata is definately my favorite side-character...I liked her from the very first episode, where we were introduced to her and found out she's cute, timid, and has a thing for Naruto...only to never see her again for about sixty episodes...and no telling how many eps till she shows up again. *sniffle*
Since the topic summary asks if anyone disagrees about Neji....I have to say I do--he's my least favorite character. Only a total jerk could take out their hatred for the "head" family on the nicest person to ever come into existence. There's no way that Hinata would maintain the division between the head family and the branch families, when she becomes head of the clan--can you see her going around putting seals on three-year-old kids that give her the power to kill them without twitching a finger? There's not a mean bone in her body. But Neji's so blind with hatred, he tries to kill her spirit, and then to kill her outright when she doesn't back down, and I still can't forgive him for that.
I'll admit, he's gotten a lot better since then, and his fight against spider-ninja was pretty cool...but there's no way it makes up for trying to kill Hinata-chin. If he saves her life someday, then I'll be able to forgive him, but until then I'll have to consider him very much un-cool.

That doesn't change the fact that Neji was still a dick about it (even though he's ok now)
but actually, Neji is one of my favorite side characters. He's a hoss.

We're getting a little off-topic here...but that's not really quite true, the way I see it...the real purpose of the seal is protecting the head family. If the purpose was just to protect the bloodline limit from being stolen from dead members of the clan, it could likely have been designed to do that, and that only, and be placed on all members of the clan, from all families...it obviously doesn't prevent passing on the limit to your children, Neji's existence proves that, so there's no need for the head family to not have a seal like that.Originally posted by: AssertnFailure

Instead, the seal is designed so that 1) it prevents the bloodline limit from being found out from dead branch-family members, and 2) any head-family member can kill any branch-family member by activating the seal. It's not really for protecting the bloodline limit so it never leaves the clan, as much as it is to protect the power of the head family--which rests on protecting the clan's power (the bloodline limit), and on no-one inside the clan being able to challenge the head family for power. Neji also says it's a mark of subservience, the branch families are supposed to protect the head family at any cost.
Unless I'm mistaken, Naruto agreed with Neji that the seal is wrong...and made a promise to find a way to remove the seal once he becomes Hokage. Hinata doesn't strike me as the kind of person who would be interested in protecting her status as the head of the clan via deadly power, so I can't really see her continuing the seal...I think she would agree with Neji and Naruto.
My favourites are, in this order:
Shikamaru, I love his techniques and tactics.
Neji, before, he I hated him, when he said all the fate crap, but 'Naruto saved him from the darkness'.
Gaara, he rules, maybe if he was more talkative, he'd be my favourite.
