I know bones are harder than steel, but strength is a different matter. For bones, it depends on the direction of the force. Since the bone structure is sorta in a fiber arrangement, bone would be extremely strong against force parallel to the grain. However, if the force is perpendicular to the grain, bone could break pretty easily.
