is there really a hidden sound villiage?

there is the head of the sound village that oro was impersonating. The third knew him. The village seems to have layed low for some time now. All we have seen is the house/cave that oro resides in, surrounded by trees. A village could exist. We also know little to nothing about the body of the guy that oro took over. He was imprisoned with many of his comrades, along with some others. He could have came from the sound village. Whether anything is left of the sound village of the previous head guy, other than those who are wililing to fight for oro, is hard to say.

Ninja villages don't have to be that big. The way I see it there are the five main hidden villages that serve as the main military bodies for their respective countries. Each of the five villages is ruled by a kage.

There are also exist several smaller ninja villages that are scattered around the world. Such as the hidden falls village that we saw in that jump festa special. I guess you could say that they serve as small mercenary camps considering that they probably only police a small radius of land.

Hidden Sound village could easily be entirely contained inside Orchimaros's cave of evil. He's got alot of room in there. From the complex medical equipment, to large storage space for his various experiments and prisoners.

My question is if the leaf knows that Orchimaro is head of the sound village why don't they just send in a platoon and take it out. I know they don't have the resources now to do something of that scale but what about the other main Ninja Villages? Wouldn't they also jump at the opportunity to take down a wanted S-rank criminal?

Not neccesarily, the other villages wont attack the Sound, because they know Konoha is under attack from them, wouldn't they rather a big village to go down instead of a newly developed one. Also they will say that it's not their fight with sound, wait till Konoha is even weaker than it is now, but other villages may know that the treaty is on with the Sand Village, and better than ever.

Now you might say well now Village #1 will rather take out the Sound because it is smaller village and it's taking on a big village such as Konoha. I would say Konoha have more enemies and more known for such power they had, but also that they made Sound and Sand retreat back to their villages, and they put up a good fight, they may have lost quite a few of their ninja's and the Hokage, but they still held off 2 villages and a ninja known as a Legendary figure and S-ranked criminal.

its probably because oro kill their leader and start treating everyone like slaves....
plus the four sound and Kimi must have grown up there, only Oro messed it up like he almost did the Sand
