Relaxing with some Aria tunes lately. I can't believe I watched it this late, especially with the superb music.

    Listening to Merlune & Daakoon's No Place Like Home LP. A variety of dark, cartooney hiphop blends.. Call it triphop if you like. Only one song available on youtube;

^^^^ I gotta show that song to my roommate. He'd love it.

Today I found out that Buckethead, one of my favorite musicians, did a song in tribute to Michael Jackson. It's quite beautiful:

Buckethead - Michael Jackson Tribute (The Landing Beacon)

I can pick any one of this guy's songs and instantly be at Zen-like peace listening to it. Goddamn.

Check out Night of the Slunk. It almost sounds like Jordan, only backwards or something:

I love the part at 2:20 when he starts to get all creepy and robotic.

The new Burzum album has nine songs written for it already.

Jack White. Is it so wrong to love another man?

Also, the video for their single "Treat Me Like Your Mother" has so much attitude. It's like a Tarantino movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7QSkI6My1g

Alright everyone. No more contentless posts like this in this thread. If you have to say something like "that is all" then it's not worth posting about at all. I don't want any more posts in this thread with just the name of the band and song listed.

I'm going to start giving warnings to anyone who doesn't say something about what they're about to post. Even a few words, one sentence. Post the lyrics, tell me why you like the song, whatever. Threads that are basically just lists and don't promote discussion belong in the flame pit. Surprising as it may be, no one actually cares what you are currently listening to if you just list 2 words.

I want this thread to tilt in the direction of discussion.

I am surprised I hadn't learned of Zack de la Rocha's side band, One Day as a Lion until now. I think this song is better than most of Rage Against the Machine's material.

    Drake

Anyone that listens to Weezy or just likes rap in general should def check out this young lyricist. (he's gettin pretty hot now but no album yet soooo... still young)

Word is he was ghost writing for Wayne for a while, and its pretty obvious why. He actually just signed with Young money, wayne's label, so expect lots of collabo's with him. He's already got a few mixtapes out which are mostly just pro verses over sickkk beats, and a little bit of that "You know you the best" kinda songs. Thats one of his that the radio's been playin to death lately.

And if you have a vagina and ever watched the show degrassi then you'll know him as the black dude in the wheel chair haha

if you need some new jams you needa give drizzy a listen. just youtube him then once you know its off the chain grab the official mixtape 'So far gone'... can find it off google.

Hoooooly shit, I just discovered Del the Funky Homosapien.

Specifically I was recommended the album Deltron 3030. There is no song on that album that isn't perfect. I want to go back in time and slap my 16 year-old "I hate hip hop" face. I have never been so in love with the genre. These are my favorites so far, but really they're all good:

    Deltron 3030 - Positive Contact

    Deltron 3030 - Memory Loss

And the titular track is, for lack of a better word, fucking epic: Deltron 3030 - 3030

If anyone ever listened to Gorillaz, Del is the rapper who appeared on the popular Clint Eastwood song. Even for people who don't really like rap, this music is so accessible. Give it a listen.

I had forgotten about this. I listened to a few songs of theirs when they first released them, but I totally disagree with you about it being better than RATM. They're listenable, but not something I would return to after hearing it once.

I definitely loved the Gorillaz, especially Clint Eastwood because it was the song that introduced me to the band, and I must say that I'm enjoying listening to Del's tracks, although I wouldn't count hip-hop/rap among my top 5 genres. Spot on in your assessment, Xan.
