I bought a Galaxy S2 smartphone today. cost me an arm and a leg and quite a hassle. bastards jacked the price up.
still, I welcome myself to the 21st century, and surprise myself with a late birthday gift.
now I need to figure out how everything works

It's surprising how much the S2 still costs even though the S3's already on the market.

    Enjoy

I bought a new laptop earlier in the week. (Samsung NP900X4C).

It's a sexy piece of hardware. While I did feel a little annoyed that it went for 1400AUD at one store for a week before our financial year concluded, it was still nice to get it for 1600AUD vs the RRP of 1900AUD (with the next cheapest option at 1800AUD).

I also got a nicer pick as well since some models apparently contained an inferior sandisk100 SSD, but mine was a fast (and presumably more reliable) samsung in-house model. Still wondering if I want to upgrade it to 256gb as per the customised computer thread tho.

The display's super bright. I wonder whether I could go dimmer when I use it on its lowest setting only to find out that it is indeed as dim as it would go. Maximum brightness is blindingly bright. Even if I used it in direct sunlight it can be painful to look at. 6/8 brightness is already enough to combat the sun.

The only worry is the power adapter, since it has a small little projection to fit into the small female socket on the side of the laptop - as you'd expect from something this small that doesn't have Apple's magnetic connection. You have to hope no one trips over it while you're working.

Oh, and IRC works at uni now. That made me smile too.
