Goku's more powerful transformations actually "shorten" Hit's time stop. Not sure how that makes sense. Seems to cut out a lot of shit too. Like the barrier around Vegeta and Mageta's fight that is the only reason Vegeta struggling in that fight makes sense. Frost also comes off as much less of a villain. Yeah, he's a cheater, but they make it seem like he doesn't want to be there in the first place. There's none of that "villain posing as the leader of a peacekeeping force" backstory he has in the anime.
I always consider the "real" one to be whichever one comes first. And while that's the manga 90% of the time, I get the feeling the manga in this instance is an adaptation of the anime/movie scripts given the timeframe.
