To save from spoilers, the time limit is 13 years from ingestion. That is why Grisha had to give his titan to Ehryn when he did. He ate the owl on the wall, infiltrated the big walls, and had 13 years to complete his duty before passing it on. Just long enough to have a kid and raise it a bit, then be eaten by him.

I think I thought it was 8 because they said Eren had 8 years left before the timeskip. But that was 5 years after he became a titan.

I know they've said Zeke and Reiner are nearly out of time.
