Just caught up. I felt all sorts of ways when someone name dropped the Rob Lucci and started transforming into a cat.

Assuming cat guy actually has two narratives, one being the origin of the gomu-gomu fruit, and the other with some slave/deity secret Jimbei's holding onto, this fight just got more interesting (to me) than the rest of Wano combined. Lore drops are a sweet nectar that Oda drip feeds me every year or so.

Yamato seems much more likely than Carrot; she was simply a long term rental. All Straw Hats have a Dream to set out to sea for... Carrot does not.

Did Yamato eat the "Mink Mink" fruit and this is her Sulong? What is this creature, if not a Pokemon?

I can't imagine this guy is how they're going to reveal where devil fruits come from.

Unless you just mean, reveal who had it before Luffy.

Carrot's "dream" is to carry on Pedro's will of ensuring that the Straw Hats bring about the new era.

And what Carrot has that Yamato doesn't, is a job on the crew. Lookout.

Based on the name of the fruit, it's a this:

Definitely fitting as Lucci's rival, though we did see Lucci not too long ago during the Reverie.

It's a shame that Jimbei just got suddenly offended instead of probing deeper into the conversation. "Sun god" Nika could be inspiration for the sun tattoo his old crew adopted.

I got the distinct impression that Jimbei already knows about it and it's something the Sun Pirates don't talk about.

    Because they were all:
WW: "I'd like to ask you a question."
    J: "Sure, go ahead."
WW: "It's about this sun god and the origin of your pirate crew."
    J: "...no more talking!"
